My Personal Review of Marmot Fordham
This jacket is amazing! I chose this one since I think few people have it. The drawback is that I had a hard time finding evaluations anyplace, so I wanted to provide some context. I bought a medium that fits me perfectly because I weigh 170 pounds and have an athletic physique.
I didn’t want the shiny appearance that most puffer-type jackets have, and this does not. The bottom body is equally water-resistant, but the shoulder material appears to be more specifically made to be water-resistant.
To retain the heat in and make it more comfortable, the end of the sleeves feature a soft, tighter cuff on the inside. The side pockets are deep and made of the same soft material. It’s like putting your hand into a cozy pair of mitts. There is just one internal pocket available for your wallet or iPod.
This jacket has always slipped past me since, when I saw it in images, it never drew my attention. In addition, I anticipated discomfort. While hunting for a coat at the mall, I stumbled into this jacket, and Woah, was I mistaken? In-person, this jacket is extremely lovely.
I must admit that after trying it on, I was blown away.
The jacket is quite cozy. One of the coziest jackets I’ve worn in a very long time, without a doubt. The content is first-rate. Marmot performed an excellent job in the design of this jacket. Every detail was correct. Very cozy and toasty. The outside felt watertight. The interior was remarkable. Hand warmers were in the pockets.
The only criticism I have is that the coat felt a little stiffer and heavier than usual. But really, I was trying on a brand-new coat. I’m confident that it won’t be as stiff when I break it in and use it a few times. Can’t escape the fact that it’s heavier, but I’m comparing it to down coats that are lightweight and only a few ounces in weight.
In general, I believe you guys ought to at least give it a shot. You won’t be let down, I promise. The fewer individuals who have it, the better; if not, that is OK too. We aren’t all here twinned up like this.
My entire life, I have been a “layers” guy. I have never owned a coat that was sufficiently warm to be worn by itself. I’ve always purchased a cheap coat for $50 to $80 and worn something else underneath, such as a cheap sweatshirt or an additional coat. I’ve spent my entire life in Montana, enduring the utterly debilitating winters, and I’ve finally decided enough is enough.
When I was searching for good winter jackets, my friend recommended the top 3 winter coats for warmth. The Marmot Fordham, North Face McMurdo Parka II, and Canada Goose were the top three. Due to the price ($1,000+ NO THANK YOU), the Canada Goose was immediately eliminated, leaving me to choose between the North Face and Marmot (both in the $250–350 range).
I ultimately decided to buy it because I prefer the Marmot Fordham style. Wow, this coat really delivers! As soon as I put it on, I felt comfy and warm. In fact, if I were cold and just wanted to feel cozy or warm, I could wear this coat inside.
I was perfectly toasty when I wore the coat today in 17-degree temperatures with nothing more than a short sleeve shirt underneath. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Montana for three and a half decades without a warm coat. Additionally, it looks fantastic, and both men and women have already complimented me on it.
When it comes to warmth, you typically have to choose between utility and fashion. Not so with this coat. Just to have a second color option, I wish to get a second one right away. This is the winter coat you want if you want to feel like a million bucks while staying warm. Believe me when I say that this coat performs because I am the biggest winter wimp on the planet.
